"I’d played a little bit of school football but nothing serious when Gary saw me at an U13 trial. I was only 11, but he saw something he liked and picked me in the team. Just over a year later, thanks to what Gary taught me, I was on my way to Vietnam as the only U12 in the Football Australia U13 Girls team. Gary’s innate understanding of what it takes to make a great football player is remarkable. He has a deep passion for the game, and because of his dedication, commitment and ever-positive attitude, he manages to transfer that passion to those he coaches. But even more important for me, is his genuine desire to help others achieve their dreams; whether they be football-related or not. He is always working behind the scenes to help his players get contracts or overseas scholarships or places in higher teams they might be striving for – despite the fact it inevitably weakens his own teams to lose them. I’m now 20, and an Australian Hockey Roo, and I can honestly say that as I juggled both sports throughout the years, I was never in any doubt that Gary wanted only the best for me, whichever pathway I chose. He looks at the whole person, and he knows how to get the best out of them… FOR them! You’re amazing Gary and I wouldn’t be where I am without you."

"Gary coached me for many years whilst I was playing for Gold Coast in the NPL. He showed confidence in me, making me believe in my own ability, which helped me grow and develop early on in my soccer career. Gary’s continual belief in me, his strong desire to push players to be better, and his knowledge of the game have inspired me and shaped me into the player I am today!"

"I have always had such a passion for football, all I’ve wanted to do is progress, do well and just enjoy the sport. Gary helped me in so many different ways, with my technique, mental state, stability and love for the game. Gary has always put his players before anything else and showed how loving the sport can bring the best out of players. Going to the surf cup in 2017 really gave me an eye opener to the fitness and strength that is needed to be a division 1 athlete, it was amazing to actually play and experience playing against good American players. I know without GF football I would of never progressed as a footballer and definitely never got the courage to move to the states."

"Gary French has not only been my soccer coach for the last 8 years but also a mentor and friend. It is an honor to say I have been a part of his team for this long. He has taught me almost everything I know about soccer, from passing the ball to placing a ball in the back of the net, but mostly having fun and enjoying myself whenever I am around the team and having the opportunity to play great soccer. Gary has definitely put all coaches to shame with his dedication and extra work put into all his teams and also players individually. He has taken multiple teams to America on soccer trips where they have the opportunity to play against diverse and experienced teams on a whole different level, as well as give them the advantage of seeing American Colleges, their facilities, and how they work. From these trips, I can count at least 9 players, including myself, who have now moved to America to attend college and play in a Division 1 conference on scholarships. Gary is an outstanding coach who has developed so many young girls into stand-out young women on the soccer field. He will not disappoint."

"Gary French is a very hard working and determined person who also happens to have cheeky and sarcastic personality. I would always love going to practice and doing that little bit extra because of Gary. There were times were I was struggling as a football player and Gary helped. He would take the time out of his busy schedule for extra sessions to help me improve as a player. He would continue to challenge me, strengthen my knowledge and give me advice. Still to this day I couldn’t thank him enough for all of his help, time and effort he put in to developing me as a player. Along with Gary’s fun-loving personality, he always gave us players a strong positive mentality and something to work for. If we put the time and effort in, we could be successful. Whether that was winning games or individually improving in training. If mistakes were made, he would help us focus on how to fix those mistakes. Gaz would always be the first one to help us bounce back. I am now a scholar athlete playing college soccer in America and I would not have gained this opportunity without the support of Gary. Even half way around the world, I still have Gary’s continued encouragement and support. I couldn’t be more grateful."

"Gary played a vital and influential role in my success on landing a full academic scholarship to Montana State University of Billings. Once Gary had committed to helping me on finding a University in the states, he did not stop guiding and assisting me until I had an offer my family and myself were 100% comfortable with. Gary is friendly, genuine and has a fantastic network of friends and Coaches across many areas of America. I could not have gone through the process of finding and contacting college coaches without Gary’s help. I would strongly recommend anybody seeking to become a student-athlete in America also seek Gary’s help."

"Without Gary's help, I wouldn't be playing division 1 soccer in America. His coaching style facilitated me to be successful in my position at left back, and his encouragement to play at my best in training and in games, helped me develop the ball skills that many people overlook."

"I was lucky enough to be coached by Gary French for several years since I was 11 years old. Not only has he developed my game but also my love for football. With his extraordinary loyalty to his players, Gary has not just become a coach to many but a mentor and a friend. After completing my first semester at Gannon University PA, I can honestly say it has been a rollercoaster of my best memories yet. I was fortunate enough to go with GF Football in 2016 on a college tour in LA and Hong Kong as well as attending the San Diego Surf cup in 2017. Which to say the least was an unforgettable experience that ultimately gave me the opportunity to play football in the US. Thanks to Gary French I am living a life I thought I could only dream of.

"I was privileged enough to be coached by Gary for several years of my soccer career. I grew so much as a player under Gary’s guidance; he exposed me to a technical side of the game I had never known. I always loved training with Gary because he creates a competitive, yet enjoyable atmosphere for his players. Aside from this, my favourite aspect of Gary’s coaching is his unwavering belief in his players. As a young athlete, Gary gave me confidence in my abilities and helped me reach my full potential. When I approached him about playing in the States, he was excited and willing to do anything to help me achieve my goal. With his help, I was able to attain a scholarship to a college which I absolutely love. I can’t thank Gary enough for everything he has done for me.

"Gary saw something in me at 14 years old that he believed he could build upon and from that moment on, with his guidance, I began to grow so much as a player. Gary introduced me to the greatest opportunity and I can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for me. Gary assisted me with securing my scholarship including taking us over to the Surf Cup to expose us to such an amazing environment. He truly is a selfless person who receives joy out of helping others succeed. Not only has he helped me improve my game but has gone further than most other coaches and built a great friendship with me.

"Thanks to Gary's help I have now spent over two years in the US playing and studying at Lindsey Wilson College as a part of a national championship team. Gary's contacts allowed me to have this opportunity and guided me with even arranging a meeting with the coach I now play under as well as answering my general questions about college in the USA. While thinking about college in America he pointed out what I would need to work on to be as successful as possible here against other teams. Because of his experience in the states I was well briefed on the competitive nature and physicality of the game. The best part about Gary's help is not only his encouraging nature but his honesty and great knowledge of the culture and experience.

"I have had the pleasure and privilege of being coached and mentored by Gary French over the past 10 years. I have always loved the game and with Gary’s professional guidance my passion and ability have developed. I traveled with two different teams to the USA on tours that Gary organized. We competed at Surf College Cup in San Diego and visited various colleges like UCLA, Irvine, San Diego State, etc. Due to this experience, I spent 4 years on a soccer scholarship in the U.S. in Atlanta Georgia, and loved the experience.

"It has been an honour to have been coached and mentored by Gary for many years while playing NPL on the Gold Coast.
He helped me as a player reach my full potential and gave me confidence in my game. He brings the best not only out of me but everyone he coaches.
I traveled on a tour to California with Gary and instantly fell in love with the idea of playing at the University level.
Once I knew I wanted to go to an American University and play, I approached Gary and he was happy to help me achieve my dream. I was luckily enough with Gary's help to get a scholarship and I spent 4 years playing and studying in America. I wouldn't have done any of this without Gary's incredible support and guidance, it was the most amazing experience and I can't thank Gary enough for giving me the opportunity."

Gary knows what is best for any football player. Currently the team have got through to the state playoffs with California community colleges. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.
